OUR THANKS TO YOU

Spring is here! Celebrate the new season with a dedication to become more involved in the community :)

The Friends of the Esparto Regional Library would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to each and every person
who has in any way contributed to FERL's efforts. Without you, we would not have built the new Library,
nor could we keep it open with the extended hours we are able to provide ... because of YOU.

We are still in need of your support.
As the excitement of accomplishment fades, the nitty gritty upkeep is still needed.

We have volunteers who keep the grounds around the Library beautiful, decorate the display cases, generate
the annual Harvest Dinner, promote the Children's Shopping Day for Christmas, stock the Book Nook, and
run the annual book sale at Almond Festival.  We support summer and reading programs for children,
bilingual aids, computers and high-speed internet for public consumption.  We fund a book budget and
open evening hours, making the Esparto Library one of the most accessible libraries in Yolo County.

FERL is dedicated to the library that our Community is so proud of, and you can join us by assisting
in one of our projects. See below for how you can help.

Partners In Hours
Contributors ~

Donations to the Partners in Hours-- for a donation of $25.00 or more you may join our club. You may use your Business name or your personal one. We will publish this list every month in our newsletter in the Valley Voice. The Friends are digging deeply into our reserves to maintain our present commitment of over 600 extra open hours for the Library. This is due to the increase of cost per hour, drop in membership, and other cost increases.

We met the challenge of construction of our library a few years ago and it now is in tremendous use, but the most expensive part of any facility is in operational cost. Will you please join our Partners Club?  All donations are fully tax deductible.

 Thank you.

This & That ~ FERL has produced a 2008 Calendar featuring floral pictures of the Library landscape garden by Laurie Hayes and Betty Koeppen. These are really beautiful pictures. The calendar will note all important FERL dates for the year.

The Membership Appeal letter was sent in November to over 2000 people in western Yolo Count. It brought in over 70 membership renewals and a number of new members. The mailing cost over $300 and was graciously underwritten by FERL President Jon Durst.  For the rest of our normal 200+ annual membership, we are dependent on publicity from this newsletter and your memory of the importance of support for the Esparto Library.  (Hint: send in your 2008 dues.)
