Literacy Program

Share your love of reading!

It has been estimated that at least one in five Yolo County residents is functionally illiterate.  The Yolo County Library Literacy Service aims to help adults improve their reading and writing skills through one-on-one tutoring.  Working with a tutor enables learners to focus on their personal reading and writing goals at their own pace.  The Literacy Services staff provides free support and materials.

Support Literacy:

&  Volunteer:  There is no experience required.  Become a tutor.  Provide outreach to your community by visiting local businesses and agencies.  Help start the Literacy newsletter.  Interested?  Contact Heather or Teresa at 530-666-8019.

&  Do you know someone who wants to improve their reading or writing?  Refer them to the Literacy Service.
